Personal Statement:
The face of the 21st century American woman is a bi-racial one--one that reflects the diverse cultures that have come to enrich the fabric of American life. As a half Filipina, half Iranian woman, born in Iran, but raised in the US, my face speaks to the modern cosmopolitan woman. With runways, magazines, and films unable/unwilling to reflect this new conception of
"global" beauty--runways still have VERY few women of color--it's up to outlet like elf to step up. Biracial = beautiful.
