my thoughts on modeling...Modeling is the embodiment and representation of the subject at hand. Serving as a model I become the agent that represents that specific work of art. I love that.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, the youngest daughter of my Persian engineer father and Irish elementary school teacher mother. My entire family is incredibly close; when I was younger my sister and I would put on fashion shows and plays for our parents, until one day we had expressed we wanted to seriously pursue a career. Now, we were in Arizona at the time, but I can honestly tell you that it was more than cowboys and tumbleweeds! My mother found us an agency, I took some classes and the next thing I know I was doing children's runway fashion shows inside well known department stores. I was in awe of what I was able to be apart of, even at that young of age. Modeling has such a broad range: it can be from high end runway apparel all the way to sunglasses and or accessories. Modeling is the embodiment and representation of the subject at hand. Serving as a model I become the agent that represents that specific work of art. I love that.

What is your modeling dream job?
I personally love catalog modeling because the pictures can be anywhere from goofy to ethereal depending on the product. Some jobs I would absolutely squeal over would be working for Dior or Chanel because they have this old school glamorous feel to them that makes every girl feel like a woman. I also love J. Crew because it's quirky and the colors are fun. It has this youthful essence that represents our generation and the fashion is wearable. Don't get me wrong though, I love modeling, so I'd be so grateful and honored to be working with any company that is serious and dedicated to their company.

Do you have any hobbies?
When I'm not working, I really love photography. I splurged on myself last year and purchased a DSLR and have loved every snap shot with it. Living in NYC is amazing because there is always something going on anywhere you look and it looks great once captured. Once things settle down with work, I plan on putting my photographs up on my website as my side project. I also really love hiking and camping (which goes great with my photography hobby) and it's a great reminder that we sometimes forget there's a bigger picture (no pun intended) out there outside the city limits.

If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?
Technically this isn't a super power, per se, but it would be quite super if this were possible. I recently watched a movie called "Limitless", where an average man takes a pill that allows his brain to operate at a 100% capacity, rather than the scientifically stated 10%. By this ability to operate at full capacity, he was able to recall everything from any moment, think faster, react faster, be physically stronger and create more. Thus, becoming super human. I would absolutely love this because it's useful! I'm personally amazed with how the mind and body works. Every day we work our bodies and our minds out to be stronger and better and yet we are still limited by unknown factors. It'd be amazing to be free from those limits and operate at 100%.

What is your favorite music, band?
I always find it incredibly difficult when someone asks me who my favorite band is or what my favorite type of music is because frankly I LOVE music! I appreciate the work that goes into making music, I appreciate the talent that the singer/band has to make a song out of their imagination and skill. I love everything from old school country like Hank Williams to new country like Brad Paisley, old school rock and roll like Elvis and the Beatles to new school Elvis Costello, metal like Metallica and Black Sabbath and indie music like Grandaddy, Metric, Oh Land and Ween. Whenever I'm asked what type of music I like, I always hand them my IPod, because that takes the pressure off of me in naming bands in case I forget one (yet I bite my nails now because I've missed out on hundreds!).

Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
I know it's cliche to say this, but it's truly my mother who has made the biggest impact on me and helped me become the strong woman I am today. I am proud to say that because she is everything I want to be in a mother and a woman. When I was younger, she took it very seriously when I told her I wanted to pursue this career because she believed in me. She helped me find an agency, she would take me to my classes, she would take me to my auditions and she would take me to set. All while being a mother to my sister, a wife to my father, a teacher to her students and the best friend to her friends. I honestly don't know how she did this. My mother even did all of this after she found out she was terminally ill and did it until the very last day for all of us. She taught me many things without even dictating those life lessons parents do with their children. The lessons were within her actions and beliefs. These lessons have been passed on to me, and they have been far greater than anything I've learned in my studies of Biology and Pre-medicine at the university. She taught me what life is really about, family. That is strength. That is passion. That is love.
